no SME mandatory, no institutions from new member countries. Requirements are Organizations from 3
member states. Organization from new member states are encouraged, but need to be of high quality. They must have a role, there must be a reason. The same is valid for SMEs.

The role of all participants will be carefully scrutinized. We want to mazimize investment in ARD and to
minimize cost of administration. Projects with more than 20 participants might need management support, otherwise the management should be done by the project leader.
We do not want standardized reports from people who are not involved in the project, as they come from project managment companies. No investmentin project management companies.

Another misunderstanding: check the current workprogramm, take it literally and check if the goal can be achieved with a few or with many partners. Numberd of participants must be managable.

Novelty Interdisciplinarity. What can be learned from partnes in adjacent disciplines, and do not come always with the same consortium. Multidisciplinarity will become a necessity.

Maximise your chances for success by show interest in the project and not in the funding. You should do your project also if funding would not be present.

A track record for EU funding is not a guarantee to success. What counts is your trackrecord in publishing for accademics and for industry partners their interest in the research results. Tell us exactly what you want to do in your words, not in ours. Tell us how the know how generated will benefit the research comunity and the society at large.
