We started our trip in Los Angeles and well, the reason is documented by the photo below:

Matilde had attended a theater stage at UCLA and went afterwards straight down to Hollywood. Cecilia and I followed.
To stay with the necessary glamour we lodged at the Biltmore Millenium Hotel, which had seen better times, but still....

Generally Los Angeles is declared ugly unattractive. I do not agree. I feel this mixture of Mexico, Asia and the USA extremely interesting. See also my Blog on "internal globalization".

BTW: parking a car in LA and also in San Francisco is nearly more expensive than driving a car. No chance to leave it in "seconda fila" and you pay your 30 USD/day to park you car in an educated way.
